5 Things That Make Me Happy

Today is my birthday. 25. It will soon be time for a quarter-life crisis, I’m sure. Luckily though, this has been a great week so far, and hopefully it will continue to be throughout this weekend! On that note, here is my favorite post to write, 5 things that make me happy, per usual:

Screen Shot 2014-03-28 at 12.48.09 AM^^1. I took this photo of my fridge yesterday, and I don’t know why, but I really like it. Just wish I had put paper towels in the paper towel holder. Oh well, c’est la vie.^^
Screen Shot 2014-03-28 at 12.48.22 AM^^2. Inside Amoeba Records during a live performance. I also discovered that there is a Criterion Collection film section upstairs that has a pretty wonderful selection of my favorite films from college (unfortunately sans Sans Soleil, will have to special order that some day soon..)^^

If it’s not Miyazaki’s original sketches then it’s Ryan Gosling’s costumes, and if it’s not that it’s a large scale, jaw-dropping miniature of The Grand Budapest Hotel. Advantages to living  in Los Angeles. Also, The Grand Budapest Hotel is great film to see on a big screen, trust me on that.^^
Screen Shot 2014-03-28 at 12.49.01 AM^^4. PJ Andrews‘ puff paint collages. I fell in love with these canvases in the Hollywood ArcLight. I can’t say no to glitter, comics and cartoons. Nicely done. Here’s one of my favorites of Roger Rabbit. Much more captivating in person, but this photo will have to do.^^
Screen Shot 2014-03-27 at 10.34.43 PM^^5. I don’t know what to call this place other than the metal art junkyard on La Brea. Every time I pass this strip of sidewalk I can’t look away. I don’t know why I haven’t photographed this place yet, but I’m adding it to the “to-do” list. It seems so fantastical.^^

  1. So sorry but I just might just have to knock off this topic! I love the concept! Sometimes the smallest things really do make you happy. Taking the time to reflect and share them is a fantastic idea!
