Los Angeles Street Art

Whenever I leave Los Angeles for more than a few days I become very aware of the city’s aesthetic when I return. L.A. feels very “pop art” to me at the moment. Not sure if it’s the colors or the celebrities or the obsession with cartoon images, but there’s something. Here is a small collection of some of my favorite graffiti paintings from around Los Angeles. Bright, character-driven and somewhat off, each seems to carry its own story.  I’ll leave you with a line from Banksy: “Some people become cops because they want to make the world a better place. Some people become vandals because they want to make the world a better looking place.”

  1. They’re all fascinating but the “Lost Values” over a Louis V (I don’t know how to spell it, that’s how much I dislike those bags!) logo is my favorite; oh, and the Healthy Cat Chick. The quote’s perfect for the post, too.
