If there’s one thing I remember about 500 Days of Summer, it’s that damn park bench on Angel’s Knoll in DTLA. The park’s closed now due to business plans for new skyscrapers, an abundance of homeless people and a rat infestation. Glamorous, I know. Anyway, even though you can’t actually go sit on the famous bench, you can look out over the park from the California Plaza directly above it. It was a fun one to check off the L.A. list. Beautiful in the film, but to be honest, seeing the buildings lit up at night was even more gripping. It’s fun living in the city where America makes it magic.
